Tour Overview
From January to April each year, many humpback whales migrate thousands of kilometers from Alaska, the Aleutian Islands, and the Bering Sea to the waters near Okinawa for breeding, giving birth, and nurturing their young.
For the past 30 years, whale-watching tours departing from Okinawa’s main island during this season have become a must-do winter activity. Visitors can observe these majestic whales gracefully gliding across the open sea from the boat! While viewing from the boat is already an awe-inspiring experience, we aim to give everyone the chance to see the whales underwater to truly feel their vitality, elegance, and the awareness and love that all living beings possess. This experience also brings a deep awareness of the urgent need for environmental conservation.
Once we set sail, we immediately begin searching for humpback whales. The captain approaches at a steady, gentle pace to avoid stressing the animals, observing them carefully without disturbance.
We then assess whether it is suitable to observe the whales in the water. When conditions are right, we prepare to enter the water near the whale. Participants must closely follow the instructions of the captain and guides. Teamwork is essential to maximise the chances of a successful observation. Once fully equipped, enter the water quietly and swiftly, and wait patiently for the whales to arrive, experiencing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
Eco-Friendly Whale Watching

To protect the natural habitat of humpback whales, our shop is a member of the Okinawa Whale Watching Association and adheres to its voluntary guidelines.
The basic principles are “no chasing, no diving”, and all approaches to whales from the boat must follow detailed rules. We ask for your patience and understanding throughout the experience. Please make your reservation only if you understand the importance of ecological conservation.

Can companions stay on the boat for whale watching without entering the water?
Non-diving guests can enjoy whale watching from the boat. ¥13000/person。
Can participants who are not confident swimmers wear a life jacket?
NO. Whales may not appear in completely calm waters, and the 5mm wetsuit already provides significant buoyancy. Wearing a life jacket on top of it can hinder quick movement.
Is it not allowed to dive underwater?
Diving is not permitted. During the breeding season, humpback whales may be huge in size but are incredibly sensitive. If they feel disturbed, your in-water encounter could be cut short, leaving only the deep blue around you
Long fins are not allowed. What about short travel fins?
Long fins (including short travel fins and Gull Barracuda fins) are not permitted. This tour involves getting on and off the boat multiple times. Please do not wear fins made of fiberglass or carbon fiber.
